Who Are The Lutherans?

"Why are there so many different Christian denominations: Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox?" This is an often confusing question for both Christians and non-Christians alike. To add to this confusion there are also many different bodies, organizations, and synods within each of the denominations. The Lutherans are no exception.

On this page we have reprinted two articles to help you to understand who the Lutherans are. Follow the links provided along the way to get further insight into Lutheran history, beliefs, and practices. Also check out the "What We Believe" page on this site.

If you have other questions you can contact Pastor Hill by phone or fax at the numbers at the top of this page or by e-mail at rburkhill@aol.com. You can also submit your question to the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod by e-mail at InfoCenter@lcms.org.
